The 2015 Met Gala Dresses Embraced The Evening's Theme With Stunning Patterns And Plenty Of Sparkle
Fashion's most-anticipated event is finally here, and the industry's elite did not disappoint on the red carpet. The 2015 Met Gala dresses are just as beautiful as ever, as celebrities took gorgeous inspiration from the theme, "China: Through The Looking Glass."
Even though the cell phone and social media ban at this year's gala will prevent us from a peak into the actual event, at least we can still oogle at all the pretty dresses on the red carpet. From Kendall Jenner to Mary-Kate & Ashley to the queen Bey herself, take a scroll through all the gowns, jumpsuits, and tuxes that made their way up the Met's stairs in 2015.
Jennifer Lawrence
I mean, no surprise that J.Law looks flawless.
Diane Kruger
Yes, girl. Slay.
Poppy Delevingne
Of course Poppy wore poppies to the Gala. Of course.
Gong Li
Actress Gong Li stuns in a velvet and lace number.
Emma Roberts
That dress is fantastic! If only she’d left the hair sticks at home.
Bee Shaffer
Love the color. Love the pattern. Well done all around.
Jourdan Dunn
THAT’S IT. Jourdan Dunn already won the whole evening.
Sarah Jessica Parker
The queen of headdresses strikes again.
Wendi Deng Murdoch
One of the co-chairs of the event, Wendi Deng Murdoch rocks some amazing gold embellishments.
Andre Leon Talley
The most majestic coat I’ve ever seen.
Marissa Mayer
Yahoo’s CEO went a more subtle route, and it was an amazing choice.
Dwayne Wade & Gabrielle Union
The couple coordinated just enough to not be cheesy.
Zac Posen & Katie Holmes
Even before the event started, Katie Holmes struck a pose with the designer of her dress.
Alicia Keys
Only Alicia Keys could pull off a blazer on the carpet.
Kerri Russell
A nice set of feathers is always a good decision.
Lizzy Caplan
Those details are divine.
Alison Brie
Purple looks good on you, Brie.
Brie Larson
That delicate floral crown is lovely.
Allison Williams
Williams proves that red on the red carpet always works.
Anne Hathaway
She HAD to have worth this because it’s May the Fourth, right?
Amanda Seyfried
It’s not often we get to see Seyfried in a dark lip, and I’m obsessed.
Elizabeth Banks
It doesn’t really have anything to do with the theme, but I still dig it.
Emily Ratajkowski
This, on the other hand, is maybe a bit TOO on-theme.
Tory Burch
After all the sparkle on the carpet, this matte dress is pretty striking.
Dianna Agron
This cut looks amazing on Agron.
Georgia May Jagger
Meh.
Kerry Washington
Wow! It’s the very first high-low hem I’ve ever liked!
Kris Jenner
Those are some serious earrings.
Selena Gomez
Selena certainly looks good in white.
Solange Knowles
Yep. Slay.
Rosie Huntington-Whitley
A nude number is always the right way to go.
Chloe Sevigny
Well, we wouldn’t really expect anything less than over-the-top with Sevigny, right?
Chloe Grace Moretz
A little casual, but nonetheless cute.
Lily Collins
I would probably wear this every day, if Lily Collins is looking to get rid of it after the event.
Jessica Chastain
Chastain often goes with gold, and it’s never a bad decision.
Kristen Wiig
It’s not often you see yellow on the red carpet, but Kristen Wiig kills it.
Sofia Vergera
Bombshell status, as per usual.
Claire Danes
That. Color.
Amal Clooney
Yesss.
Lorde
Is that a floor-length, black, crushed velvet gown I see? Amazing.
Behati Prinsloo
Proving that cutouts can be very, very classy.
Kendall Jenner
A very unique color, but Kendall pulls it off.
Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen
I love you, MK & A, but every Met Gala is not witch themed.
Sienna Miller
Drop dead gorgeous.
Sophie Turner
The Game of Thrones star looks like a beautiful mermaid.
Imogen Poots
I’m a sucker for black lace.
Candice Swanepoel
So simple, yet very pretty.
Dakota Johnson
If anyone can pull off a mini at the Met Gala, it’s Dakota Johnson.
Olivia Munn
That ombre, though.
Madonna
Wait, how are these the first gloves on the carpet?
Kate Beckinsale
Definitely thought this was a goddess floating through.
Kim Kardashian & Kanye West
Solid.
Cara Delevingne
I’m glad Delevingne has fully committed to jumpsuits forever.
Rihanna
Not only was Rihanna's gown an obvious showstopper, it was one of the very few to be made by a Chinese designer.
