White House Correspondents' Dinner 2015 Red Carpet Had Some Of The Best "Nerd Prom" Looks Ever
Politicians aren't generally heralded for their great sense of style, so the White House Correspondents' Dinner red carpet is just about the only time Washington gets to be the center of the fashion world's attention. Affectionately known as "Nerd Prom," attendees get all dolled up in designer duds before sitting down to a night of celebrating an eclectic crowd of journalists, celebrities, and politicians.
The 2015 WHCD guest list might be the most stylish yet, with the likes of Chrissy Teigen and Bethany Mota joining the Obamas for dinner. Naturally, that lead to one of the best red carpets ever. Click through to check out every single look.
Maria Menunos
Looks like red and cutouts are going to be big this evening.
Tracee Ellis Ross
A floor-length cape dress? Yes, please.
Michelle Monaghan
While everyone else went for bright and coral-hued red, Monaghan decided on a deeper, cabernet-colored gown.
Naya Rivera
Rivera is literally glowing in white.
Pete Wentz and Meagan Camper
Further proof that all black everything is never a bad idea.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum
You can’t go wrong with a classic black gown with a sparkly bust.
Gillian Jacobs
Who says a printed dress can’t be classy?
Gina Rodriguez
Three words: pretty in pink!
Julie Bowen
Bowen gives us another reason to rock the midi-length dress.
Adriana Lima
You can’t go wrong with a classic black gown and a bold red lip — especially if you’re Adriana Lima.
Chrissy Teigen
Sparkles! Sheerness! Slits!
Brit Marling
Ivanka Trump
This strapless red mermaid gown was the perfect choice for tonight’s dinner.
Laverne Cox
It doesn’t get more chic and stunning than this silvery gray gown.
Joanna Coles
Note to self: if Joanna Coles can show her midriff in the presence of the President, so can you.
Connie Briton
Tami Taylor FTW.
Cecily Strong
Tonight’s host looking gorgeous in a black and purple gown.
Hannah Davis
Davis’ teal and blue gown looks like a watercolor work of art.
Sophia Bush
Bush was glowing in this jewel-colored number.
Anne Vyalitsyna
Tonight’s best accessory: the baby bump!
Jane Fonda
May we all look this drop dead gorgeous in a body-hugging black gown at 77.
Idina Menzel
Idina’s dirty blonde hair and red gown is like a fiery take on Frozen’s Elsa, no?
Darby Stanchfield
Stanchfield looks so classy in this ivory frock.
Gabourey Sidibe
Sidibe channeled her inner-Grecian goddess in a black gown with gold embroidered embellishments and a gold rope headband.
Chanel Iman
Mark my words: baby blue is making a comeback.
Tara Lipinski
Lipinski’s bold gown is a mix between animal-print and Pollock painting.
Irina Shayk
Shayk makes blush pink look sexy.
Kate Couric
Couric approves gowns with pockets.
Bailee Madison
If Madison’s “Nerd Prom” ensemble is any indication of what she’s going to look like at her own prom (in, like, three years), all we have to say is watch out, high schoolers!
Bethany Mota
Mota looks super chic in this white bejeweled gown.
Martha Stewart
All hail Queen Martha Stewart.
Marissa Mayer
Leave it to Mayer to keep it cute, colorful, and, of course, professional.
Lucy Liu
Liu looks sleek in a simple beaded black gown.
Tamron Hall
Another reason to love Tamron Hall: her “Getting Ready For The #WHCD” mix includes Drake.
Ashley Judd
You don’t have to go go full floral crown to keep your ensemble fresh.
Arianna Huffington
Although she offered sage advice to fellow WHCD attendees to wear flats, Huffington went with heels, because she’s just too fabulous to wear high tops — let’s be honest.
Alanna Masterson
Masterson bares her shoulders in this black halter dress.
Lauren Cohan
Cohan looks almost unrecognizable, dazzling in a feminine, turquoise lace ensemble.
Rebecca Gayheart
In a sea of red and black gowns, there’s only one way to stand out: hot, hot pink.
