The 2015 Grammy Red Carpet Dresses, Suits, And Other Daring Ensembles Were Perfect For Music's Biggest Night
Pharrell's hat. J. Lo's mermaid-y dress. All of Lady Gaga's outfits ever. The Grammy Award's red carpet inevitably spews memorable ensembles — so memorable, in fact, that the producers even went so far as to enforce a strict dress code in 2013. Hey, this is a classy affair, OK?!
Even if freeing the nipple might be expressly banned from this particular event, musicians still manage to turn heads by getting as close to crossing the "thong type costumes are problematic" line as possible. Here, every single dress, pant suit, and bizarre hair accessory to hit the Grammy red carpet in 2015.
Ariana Grande
After a year of mini skirts with knee high boots, Grande looks very grown up in a floor length Versace gown.
Madonna
On anyone else, this outfit would be insane. On Madonna? Well, it’s still mostly insane, but the music icon gets a pass on just about anything she wants.
Charli XCX
Charli XCX expressed her disdain for boring fashion on the red carpet, and she was certainly anything but in this Moschino getup.
Giuliana Rancic
Rancic wore a Steven Khalil gown for the Grammy pre-show, then switched to her first pants ever on the red carpet.
Kelly Osbourne
Would not be mad if Osbourne ended up actually wearing the leopard robe on the red carpet.
Tyler Oakley
That tie, though.
Melissa Rivers
I have to say, this is the most creative way to work cutouts into a mature ensemble I’ve ever seen.
Jeannie Mai
TV personality Jeannie Mai bringing that classic Grammy sheerness to the red carpet.
Kat Graham
Clearly, sheer dresses with a whole lot of other stuff going on were trending Sunday night.
Nick Jonas
Ugh, yes. The lime green stripes in this suit are so, so good.
Jessie J
In comparison to some of the other getups Sunday night, Jessie J’s stunning black number is downright tame (but still gorgeous).
Olivia Culpo
You can’t really go wrong with a basic black gown, but it does fall a little flat compared to the rest of the looks on the carpet.
Frankie Grande
Oh, Frankie. You never disappoint.
Chrissy Teigen
Teigen is a woman of many talents — one of which being wearing the heck out of all sorts of cutouts.
Jhene Aiko
Newcomer Aiko picked the perfect dress for her first Grammys. The silhouette is totally classic, but the feather-y bodice makes quite the statement.
Sia & Maddie Ziegler
No. Words.
Jenny Lewis
Jenny Lewis, looking as chill as ever.
Pharrell & Helen Lasichanh
After last year’s major hat moment, we knew Pharrell would be making another statement on the red carpet this year — and those shorts did not disappoint.
Meghan Trainor
More black. More sheer. More lace. More amazing.
Anna Kendrick
I would like to start a petition to have Anna Kendrick wear suits exclusively, please.
Katy Perry
Kelly Osbourne, is that you?
Nicki Minaj
Personally, I’m obsessed with Nicki’s new, ultra-glamorous look.
Katharine McPhee
One of the only pops of color of the night, McPhee looked awesome for her first Grammys.
Miranda Lambert
I get what Lambert was going for with the pops of pink, but I think I would have preferred the dress without it.
Rita Ora
Not sure which is better: Ora’s sequin gown or her fierce new pixie cut.
Taylor Swift
I had a hunch that T. Swift was secretly a magical mermaid.
Jennifer Hudson
Hudson’s white mini is simple, but chic.
Iggy Azaela
Between the cobalt and the braid, this is easily one of my favorite looks of the night.
Miley Cyrus
It wouldn’t be a Miley dress without some major cutouts, right?
Beyonce
Well done, Bey.
Kim Kardashian
Is it a dress? Is it a bathrobe? Who knows. Just keep doin’ you, Kim.
Ashanti
Yesss. Get it, Ashanti.
Joy Villa
K.
Zendaya
Zendaya’s dress is great, but it’s the 18-year-old’s beauty look that really did it for me.
Rihanna
Rihanna looks like the prettiest human cupcake ever in a Giambattista Valli gown.
Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett
Everyone’s favorite new musical duo was looking as adorable as ever.
Ciara
Wow, that’s a whole lotta dress.
Paris Hilton
Dressed like a Barbie, as always.
