Do you remember where you were when Taylor Swift's Speak Now album came out and you spent all day figuring out who each song was about? There was Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, and John Mayer, and the fact that Swift didn't hold back was amazing. Well, Swift is back at it with a song called "Bad Blood" on her upcoming album 1989. Swift covers the latest issue of Rolling Stone and she is already admitting that "Bad Blood" is indeed about bad blood she has with another famous female artist. But who?
Well, in true Swift-nature, she isn't naming names, something I respect as a person but despise as a nosy fan. Of course, speculation didn't take long as fans of the songstress started looking at a certain "famous female artist," who may or may not be Katy Perry.
For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not... [Then last year] she did something so horrible. I was like, "Oh we're just straight-enemies." And it wasn't even about a guy!
So while I want to believe Swift, it is kind of a coincidence that she brings up that it "wasn't about a guy" but she and Perry both dated John Mayer at different points in their careers, right? Swift continues that it really wasn't about Mayer — erm, I mean "a guy."
It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.
Interestingly enough, there have been major rumors being whispered by die-hard T. Swift and Katy Perry fans that some of Swift's dancers left her tour last year to team back up with Perry. Also, I don't want to start to read too much into this, but Swift tweeted this last year.
I don't know if that is throwing shade or not, but Twitter users are bringing it back to the forefront and thinking it isn't meant genuinely.
We might get more details as to if it is Perry, or not, once the album comes out, as Swift says that some of the lyrics in the song are filled with those zinger texts you always want to send to your frenemy. I love how Swift is never afraid to just come out and say who she is mad at in her songs, even if she doesn't outright say it.
