'KUWTK' Shifts Its Focus to Khloe & Lamar

by Allison Piwowarski

To say Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s wedding was my favorite Keeping Up With The Kardashians wedding would be an understatement. It was beautiful, not too over the top, and seemed extremely genuine, no matter how quickly it was thrown together. They met and married within a month’s time back in 2009, and after a long road of tribulations, this week’s KUWTK will show the final chapter in Kardashian and Odom's ending marriage.

For the past year, fans of the Kardashians have been left with cryptic tweets from Kardashian surrounding the crumbling of her marriage. There has been a lot of back and forth regarding if Kardashian and Odom had reconciled, especially surrounding the months where Odom had been reportedly suffering from a substance abuse problem. Officially, Kardashian filed for divorce in December of 2013, after a video surfaced of Lamar bragging about cheating and his drug habits. This week on KUWTK, we will see Kardashian make the difficult move out of her and Odom’s home that they moved into after they married.

It has been a rough year for Odom. Last summer he was arrested on DUI charges and was reportedly working through a significant substance abuse problem. On a positive note regarding Odom’s life, reports have been saying that Odom is finally dating again, now that he has seen his ex with French Montana. However, he’s been keeping a pretty low profile when it comes to being seen with women. In terms of his career in basketball, Odom was signed as a forward for the remaining game of the season with The New York Knicks, however on Friday the team waived Odom, with President Phil Jackson saying, "Lamar was unable to uphold the standards to return as an NBA player."

As for Kardashian, she has moved on with her new boyfriend, Montana, who she says makes her happy. That much is evident in the shift of tone on Kardahian’s Instagram quote game lately. More recently, Kardashian has been posting positive, love-filled quotes on her Instagram, versus the “A certain darkness is needed to see the stars” quote earlier this year. And what better way to see what is running through Kardashian’s heart than by reading into her Instagram?

Speaking of Instagram, new photos of Kardashian and Montana wearing masks with guns over their shoulders a la The Purge — no really, look at the photo — were posted by Montana on his Instagram just the other day, reportedly related to Montana’s upcoming video, "Don’t Panic". I’m not sure if this is what couples do these days... but I guess the heart wants what the heart wants. This isn’t the first photo controversy they’ve had, with Khloe's Instagram post last month that showed Montana holding a gun and Kardashian drinking champagne.

In the end, what matters is that Kardashian is happy and it seems Montana is able to do that for her. So cheers, Khloe. Enjoy that bubbly, but French, maybe put the gun away.
