This event didn't earn the nickname "nerd prom" for nothing — the outfits at the 2016 White House Correspondents' Dinner are so on point. I'm not exactly surprised considering the ultra stylish guest list this year. Model-of-the-moment Kendall Jenner is slated to attend, alongside fashion veterans like Rachel McAdams, Kerry Washington, and, naturally, First Lady Michelle Obama, who always owns every formal occasion. It's destined to be an incredibly stylin' night.
The fashion at the WHCD is bound to be significantly more tame than at many other red carpet events, but that doesn't mean it can't be incredible. You can expect to see lots of classic silhouettes, bold patterns, and high-wattage embellishments, plus a heavy dose of glamorous patriotism if past dinners are to be believed. Just because we won't be seeing Miley Cyrus in pasties doesn't mean we won't be having fun. I, for one, am always excited to see how celebrities interpret White House appropriate formalwear. Spending an evening with the President and a host of other hugely influential people certainly sounds like an occasion to pull out all the stops to me.
There's something for the politically and fashionably minded alike at this event, so be sure to follow along and check out every single look from the evening's festivities.
