I know it's not for everyone, but I am a firm believer in washing your hair as infrequently as possible — partially for laziness and partially because cleansing every day isn't great for your strands. This means, however, that I'm often left needing styles for dirty hair, especially during party season when it becomes more and more likely that not every soirée will fall on a wash day.
So, in order to avoid subjecting my friends to slightly greasy roots, I enlisted the help of Grace, a stylist from ARROJO Salon in New York City. Together, we sorted out four new styles literally anyone can nail on the days when whipping out the shampoo just isn't in the cards. From a braided updo to bouncy waves and everything in between, you no longer have an excuse to throw it all up in a topknot before your next fancy dress affair.
The key to nailing these looks, Grace insists, is using gold bobby pins. There's no point in wasting time trying to completely hide your pins (it's not gonna happen, sorry) so treat them instead like a sparkly accessory. Let the pins peek out of your braid! Add a handful to the side of your head! Then, get ready for the best hair selfie of your life.
