'Scream Queens' Season 2 Already Sounds Amazing

by Allison Piwowarski

Barely any time has passed since the unknown Red Devil was revealed on Scream Queens, but it's never too early to start talking Scream Queens Season 2, is it? Still reeling from the finale, which revealed that Hester was the mastermind behind all of the killings, fans are already predicting what the details of Season 2 will entail. Would anyone from the Season 1 cast return? Will Scream Queens follow in American Horror Story's footsteps and become an anthology that starts fresh each season? While we'll have to wait until the premiere of Season 2 gets closer for specific details, cast members and series creators have all spoken out about Season 2, hinting at what can be expected.

The first season of the show ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Hester, the only living killer (if you don't count Dean Munsch) remained in Kappa, having found her "family." She, quite literally, figured out how to get away with murder. The Chanels landed themselves in the asylum, where they finally found peace, only to be — possibly — terrorized by the Red Devil once again. So, will those open-ended storylines get any attention come Season 2? Here's what we know about the show's sophomoric season, should it be renewed.

Some Season 1 Characters Will Return

While we don't know if all of the characters that survived will return (Chad, Denise, the Dean, the Chanels, Hester, Wes, Grace, and Zayday), creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that some of the survivors will return. In a panel at Fan Fright Fest in New York, Murphy said “the conceit is three or four of the cast members [from Season 1] survive… [And in the] second season, the survivors go off to a new venue.”

There Will Be A New Killer

Lea Michele, this season's killer, revealed that Murphy has plans to introduce an entirely new killer in the second season to Entertainment Tonight. Whether that killer is someone we know already, or is entirely new, is still to be determined.

There Will Be New Characters

While I wish we could just hang out with the remaining characters forever — maybe not Hester? — Murphy also stated during the Fan Fright Fest panel that there would be 10 new characters introduced next season. Sounds like a lot of pickings for the new killer.

It Will Move Locations

In the beginning of the season, Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that the second season would have an entirely new location.

Think Summer Camp?

Oliver Hudson (Wes) might have given away a little hint as to what the second season of the show will be about. While on Watch What Happens Live, Hudson said "think summer camp." While that's not a lot to go off of, it certainly gives off that Friday the 13th horror-esque vibe the show loves.

So, while we have to wait until closer to the Season 2 premiere for more details, these are some strong leads, right? Now is the time to start theorizing exactly how four characters from Scream Queens Season 1 end up at a summer camp.
