Here's How Amy & Nick Met

by Allyson Koerner

With the 2015 Emmy Awards on Sunday night, I can't help but think about all the adorable Hollywood couples who will walk the red carpet side by side. For example, there's a good chance that Amy Poehler and Nick Kroll will attend together, because in addition to them being a couple, Poehler is nominated for an Emmy. Why wouldn't Kroll want to show up and support his girlfriend during the last time she can ever win an Emmy for her role as Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation? News of these two dating was first reported by Us Weekly in May 2013. Then, they seemingly made their first public appearance as couple in June 2013 at AFI's 41st Life Achievement Award Gala. So, how did Amy Poehler and Nick Kroll meet?

Well, seeing as they're both actors and comedians, there's a good chance they crossed paths on more than one occasion and possibly even before Kroll appeared on Parks and Recreation in several episodes. However, it remains unclear where and when they officially first met, but I'd like to think that their time on Parks and Rec brought them together. Doesn't that make for a great love story?

For those who don't recall, Kroll appeared in several episodes as Howard Tuttleman aka "The Douche," who co-hosted the Pawnee radio show Crazy Ira and The Douche. Not only was Kroll's character crude, inappropriate, and sexist, especially with Leslie, but at one point Ann briefly considered him as a potential father for her baby. She did not follow through with that, thank goodness.

Here are a few of Poehler and Kroll's most memorable moments from Parks and Rec.

When Howard Wanted Leslie To Jello Wrestle

Don't worry, Leslie put him in his place.

When Leslie Couldn't Quite Place Him

Thank goodness Ann didn't pick him as her baby's father.

When He Introduced Himself To Leslie

"Please, call me The Douche."

I'm pretty sure Nick doesn't ask Amy to call him "The Douche." At least I hope not.
