Juelia Has Survived Worse Than Jerky Joe

by Allison Piwowarski

I think we can all agree that Joe has been the worst since arriving to Paradise. Case and point: Joe totally used Juelia for a rose on Bachelor in Paradise . Juelia, someone who has been through a lot in the past, deserves respect and definitely deserves to not be used by some Bachelorette reject. The single mother has referred to her past as a widow, but fans might be wondering what exactly happened to Juelia's husband. Sadly, the situation is heartbreaking and tragic.

As a refresher, the Paradise resident was also a contestant on Chris Soules' season of The Bachelorette. The mother of a young daughter opened up to Chris about her late husband. She revealed that sadly, her husband, Dustin, had committed suicide, leaving her to raise her daughter on her own.

Juelia opening up about her husband's death is something that not only proves the strength that she has, but also begs the question: how can you not want the best for her (and her daughter)? This woman has been through something that many people are fortunate enough to not experience in their life and she has been able to pick up the pieces after her husband's death and move forward to find love. It's very admirable and courageous of her to be so open about it with viewers.

But Juelia's past has also created some tension with fans and even other contestants on Bachelor in Paradise. Because she has been through so much tragedy in her life, the absolute last thing you'd want to see is her be mistreated by someone like Joe. Obviously no one deserves his treatment, but you can't help but feel for the widowed single mother that Joe is playing as if this is all a big game. For Juelia, this show is bigger than a free vacation. It's about finding a dad for her daughter and about finding a husband she loves.

The disrespect that Joe has given Juelia is disgusting and says a lot more about Joe than it does about our girl. Hopefully she sees that and realizes she is way better off without him.
