Kim Kardashian Is Launching A New Skincare Line
SKKN BY KIM is the celebrity’s latest business venture.
After the shut down of KKW Beauty last year, fans of the reality tv star have been waiting with bated breath to see what Kim Kardashian would launch next. She has flipped the world upside down with the success of her shapewear brand SKIMS, and now she’s aiming to disrupt the beauty space with the launch of her new skincare line, SKKN BY KIM, in partnership with Coty. So how can we buy it in the UK?
Announced on June 1, Kardashian showed us a glimpse of her new range with a beautiful, minimalist styled campaign starring herself and shot by legendary photographer Mario Sorrenti. “I’m excited to finally introduce to you SKKN BY KIM, a rejuvenating nine-product skincare ritual that I have developed from start to finish,” the celebrity shared in an Instagram post. “I’ve been so privileged to learn about skin and skincare over the years from the world’s top dermatologists and estheticians [sic], and every bottle from my new line is filled with the knowledge I’ve accumulated along the way.”
The SKIMS founder enlisted her very own facialist, world class aesthetician Joanna Czech to help her create the skincare lineup. Kardashian revealed in her New York Times interview that Czech taught her everything she needed to know about vitamin C, and also helped her reformulate the products to comply with the European Union’s skincare regulations.
The clean, science-backed line up includes a cleanser, toner, exfoliator, hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C serum, face cream, eye cream, night oil, and oil drops. But the products don’t come cheap. According to Kardashian, the nine-product range totals $603 (£505). “It’s definitely more prestige, and in order to get the types of ingredients that I would not really miss out on, it was kind of a necessity,” she added. “The products I was using were comparable were way more expensive, not to compare anything. I tried to get the quality for the best price that we would, especially the vitamin C serum.”
The packaging also gives off a luxurious feel with its architectural inspired design, which is very reminiscent of the mogul's famed, minimalist Hidden Hills mansion. According to Kardashian, all of the products will be refillable, reusable, and the replacement pods will cost around 15% less than the original packaging.
SKKN BY KIM is set to drop worldwide exclusively on the brand’s website from June 21 at 5pm GMT, and will launch into major retailers next year. However, no word has been released as to which retailers will stock SKKN BY KIM or whether the list will include British stores. But we will update this piece as and when we find out. In the meantime, you can sign up to the wait list to be the first to know when the products drop.
