Pandora Just Lifted The Lid On The Design Stories Behind 5 Must-Have Pieces

by Aimée Grant Cumberbatch

Jewellery brings the finishing touch to an outfit. It can elevate a look, give it an edge, make it feel more you. And once you’ve closed that clasp, slid on those rings and adjusted those earrings, you may not give your jewellery much more thought. But behind Pandora’s ultra-wearable items, there’s a level of design love and expert craftsmanship that deserves attention. That’s why, with help from the brand’s creative directors Francesco Terzo and A. Filippo Ficarelli, we’re shining a light on the stories behind some of our favourite Pandora pieces.

By the time it makes its way to you, each piece of Pandora jewellery will have, on average, been worked on by 25 people. But it's not just the brand’s dedication to delighting its customers that proves its jewellery-making is truly a labour of love. Pandora is committed to caring for people and the planet. The brand prioritises the safeguarding of human rights at every level, from its supply chain through to its own operations — a key reason the brand has been ranked 3rd in The Danish Institute for Human Rights scorecard of 30 Danish companies.

Pandora is making similarly impressive moves on sustainability, showing how reimagining existing materials can result in magical new designs. Pandora’s crafting centres are already powered by 100% renewable energy and recycle 99.6% of their waste. But the brand is set to go even further — achieving carbon neutral status by 2025.
