Marshalls Hustled To Get Shoppers Access To A Fashion-Filled Week in NYC

See how Marshalls got shoppers the good stuff this season, from fall-ready looks to an unforgettable week.

by Erin Cunningham

Fall fashion reigns supreme — and for good reason. The colors, textures, and silhouettes that come with the season are arguably better than any other time of year. Pair that with a calendar of can’t-miss events that call for an array of photo-worthy outfits, and the transition to cooler weather might just be our favorite time to get dressed.

It makes sense, then, that New York’s annual week-long celebration of fashion coincides with the unofficial start of fall. To celebrate its arrival, Marshalls teamed up with NYLON to provide three randomly selected winners unrivaled access to one of the season’s most exclusive style events. Jacquelyn, Josephine, and Madeline were awarded an epically chic experience that put them at the center of it all. First, the group had the opportunity to attend a special fashion presentation, often reserved for industry insiders. Next, they received personalized Marshalls style recs from BDG editors, which they were able to show off at our NYLON Nights event. Like Marshalls’ ethos, the whirlwind agenda got the winners access to the good stuff in life.

Marshalls got each of the recipients on-trend pieces that felt fresh off the runway. Your local store is filled with an unrivaled selection of can’t-miss pieces at even better can’t-miss prices, making it a one-stop shop for special events and everyday needs alike. Below, discover the styles our winners gravitated towards for their unforgettable week in New York City — and all the Marshalls pieces that helped them nail their looks.

Madeline isn’t one to shy away from a trend; she’s always down to experiment with her style and try the latest and greatest. To create a cool night-out look that won’t break the bank, editors opted for timeless silhouettes with feminine details courtesy of Marshalls. A cropped white tee is the ideal base to layer upon, and this ultra-soft ribbed one can be dressed up or down for any mood or occasion. Here, it’s a canvas for two statement items: a semi-sheer black midi skirt with crystal beading and a leather metallic jacket in of-the-moment lavender. Pops of silver are seen throughout her accessories, from the tapered drop earrings to the knotted bangle, while strappy sandals and a half-moon bag tie it all together.

Elevated Everyday

Jacquelyn is upgrading her boho-leaning style for fall with luxe takes on forever favorites. Her editor-approved look included a sweater dress, an autumnal staple, in a burgundy-hued soft merino wool; the body-hugging fit and ribbed knit texture show off her growing baby bump, while the off-the-shoulder neckline adds an unexpected touch. Leaning into Jacquelyn’s preference for a more relaxed vibe is a slightly oversized plaid blazer and a pair of perenially cool leather boots — quality footwear at amazing prices. Though each piece is versatile for day or night, a bejeweled mini bag and coordinating silver teardrop earrings finish off a look perfect for after-sunset outings.

DC-based tastemaker Josephine has one fashion rule: The look must channel her confidence. With a penchant for rich tones, editors styled her in a pair of deep red leather-effect pants with an unexpected slit at the ankles. Up top, a sequined black top with a feather trim offers a masterclass in mixing materials for any type of budget. With two major statement pieces, the rest of her look is pared-back, including a classically tailored blazer, chunky platform heels, and a sleek leather bag. Needless to say, confidence has been channeled.
