Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, subtlety honored the late Princess Diana while in attendance of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years since ascending the throne.

The Duchess payed tribute to her late mother-in-law with a very Diana-esque ensemble. She donned a white, double-breasted, notched-lapel blazer dress by Alexander McQueen. Middleton’s sapphire necklace, ring, and earrings are all pieces from Princess Diana’s collection, which was left to Prince William when his mother died in 1997, The Telegraph reports. The jewels themselves were actually a wedding gift from the Queen to Princess Diana.

The Duchess topped off her look with a matching, white-trimmed hat designed by Phillip Tracy. The derby-style topper also bears a resemblance to one worn by Princess Diana. In 1989, on a visit to Dubai, the Princess wore the statement accessory designed by Philip Somerville.

This isn’t the first time Middleton has given a nod to the late Princess’ famous style. She has worn Diana-approved hats and color combinations on similar occasions, like when debuting Prince Louis to the world. The ways in which the Duchess of Cambridge has been able to keep Diana’s memory alive via fashion — especially when the princess herself was such a style icon — really embodies the sentiment of “gone, but never forgotten.”
