Why Twitter Thinks Jill's Biden Jacket Could Be A Dig At Melania Trump
She’s all about love and unity.
On Thursday, ahead of the G7 Summit, Jill Biden was seen accompanying President Joe Biden to meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife, Carrie Johnson. For the occasion she chose a blazer that read “Love” on the back designed by French brand Zadig & Voltaire.
Biden topped a Brandon Maxwell polka dot dress with the tailored outerwear. The blazer over a dress look is one that the First Lady wears quite often and perfectly walks the line between conservative and style-loving.
The ‘Love’ blazer is actually one the First Lady has worn before, styling it when the President Joe Biden officially kicked off his Presidential campaign in Philadelphia in May 2019, topping a yellow pencil dress with the blazer.
When, at first glance, many believe Biden was throwing shade at Melania Trump, who famously wore an army jacket that read “I Really Don’t Care, Do U?” back in 2018 to visit immigrant children, the overall sentiment of the look was a peek into the future, and what the Bidens are fighting for. Preceding the unity intended during the G7 Summit, the message of love is simply that.
The next day (the first of the G7 Summit), Biden spent the afternoon with Kate Middleton, who made headlines of her own, due to her affordable micro bag from British favorite, L.K. Bennett that she styled with a pink Alexander McQueen dress. Middleton was perfectly coordinated to Biden, who chose a loosely-pleated white dress and pink blazer on top.
