If you haven’t yet spotted Destiny Joseph (@isthisfate) in your social feed, she’s on her way there. The Boston-based student is only 21, but her otherworldly style combines the best parts of years past, dipping into vibrant palettes that pull from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. “I just like to be able to tell a story with my clothes,” says Joseph, who didn’t let her 5’3” frame deter her from carving out a place in the fashion industry. Bypassing archaic gatekeepers in lieu of building an online community, Joseph says, “I realized that social media gave me the opportunity to gain the connections I needed to join the modeling industry in a different way, and I’m very grateful for that.”
