3 Colorful Summer Looks For Every Kind Of Getaway

TikTok style personality Courtnee Crews shares her must-have Macy's ’fits.

Summer is truly the time for experimental dressing. The adventurous energy of the season can inspire even the most low-key dressers to throw fashion caution to the wind, and just go with their gut when it comes to outfit curation. Take it from Courtnee Crews, the TikTok creator and eclectic summer dresser, who doesn’t subscribe to any one dominant fashion category. Instead, she goes by her mood. “I love not putting a label on describing my style because it depends on how I’m feeling that day,” she explains. Summer ’fits for Crews tend to lean towards casual and comfortable with fun colorful pieces added to elevate a look.

When she’s putting together outfits for week-long getaways, day trips, and other summer adventures, Crews heads to Macy’s. The retailer is unparalleled when it comes to finding stylish travel clothing options, from fancy, to casual, or a little bit of both. “I tend to dress more fun and lighthearted on vacation,” says Crews. “Different scenery always inspires me to put together new looks from my closet. I love playing into the vacation or tropical vibe.”

Suit Up or Down

A blazer and slacks don’t always mean business — at least not in the stuck-in-meetings-all-day sense. Crews’ MANGO satin pastel purple set, which features a “summer shine” detail, is more in the business of looking fabulous, tbh. She looks for pieces that can be worn multiple times in different ways. “I love that this can be dressed up or down, which is perfect for summer and traveling because you can walk around and explore, but you can also head to a cute dinner in it,” says Crews.

Convertible Chic

Sacrificing comfort for glamour? Don’t think so. Crews takes a breezy, oversized, button-up shirt — an utmost versatile garment — and pairs it with satin green pants, plus a multicolor natural fiber handbag and blue lace-up sandals. Crews enjoys using accessories like these to liven up simple, warm-weather looks. “A good button-up is a must for summer and travel! You can wear it in so many ways, and it’s so easy to throw on and still looks put-together,” she says. “Also, this look is perfect for the beach. It’s super easy to get to your swimsuit under it, but definitely cute enough to hit my favorite lunch spot after.”

Daytime to Dinner

Crews believes in the power of “an easy, chic little dress” for traveling because it’s easy to pack and can be worn multiple times. “I can throw on a pair of sneakers to walk around in and be comfortable, and I can also wear it again with kitten heels and a chunky necklace and/or earrings to dress it up for dinner,” she says. This outfit is a prime example of what Crews suggests for finding one’s personal style: having fun with it. “Play around with looks at home, pairing different things in your closet,” she says. “Also, make sure you can see everything. Sometimes different pieces will catch my eye that I wouldn’t have thought to put together.”
