Sylvia Obell

Sylvia Obell is a journalist and on-air talent whose relatable and entertaining approach to news has made her a valued rising voice in culture. She's worked as a staff writer for BuzzFeed and Essence magazine and has hosted popular shows like the “Okay, Now Listen” podcast and “Get You A Me”, both collaborations with Netflix's Strong Black Lead, and Hella Opinions, an unapologetically black Twitter show she helped develop at BuzzFeed News. She was a producer/correspondent for the news site’s flagship morning show AM to DM. A celebrated writer, Sylvia has penned cover stories on Zendaya, Lizzo, Issa Rae, both Serena and Venus Williams, Keke Palmer, and more for popular magazines.
