There's Still Hope For A Cory Baxter Cameo On 'Raven's Home'

Thanks to the era of Peak TV, the small screen has become a hub for nostalgic reboots, and come July 21, it'll add one more to its list of revamped shows: Raven's Home, a modern take on early 2000s favorite That's So Raven. We already know star Raven-Symoné will reprise her role as the eponymous psychic, and Anneliese van der Pol will be back by her side as BFF Chelsea Daniels, but what about the rest of the original cast? Will Raven's brother, Cory, be on Raven's Home?

According to the official cast list, Kyle Massey, who played Cory, won't be in a main role, but that doesn't rule out an appearance down the line. In March, he told Perez Hilton exclusively that he'd spoken with Raven-Symoné and was open to a guest spot, even floating around the idea of resurrecting his own spinoff, Cory In The House (though, for the record, he appeared to be joking about the latter bit). He said:

"As far as That's So Raven 2. I'm not really sure what part I will play in the show, if any. I spoke with Raven a few weeks ago but we haven't officially secured anything yet. I would always be down to do a guest spot on her show. Raven can make it happen. Hell who knows I might have to bring Cory In The House back with a fake [Donald] Trump as president lol you never know! Just know it's always a party when you get the gang back together. "

At this point, Raven's Home Season 1 has assumedly wrapped filming and production, so if Massey were to make a cameo, it would have to be during a later installment. But viewers eager to see Massey return should be comforted by the fact that he's been in communication with Raven-Symoné about a potential comeback, and that it seems like both parties are interested in making it happen.

In the meantime, Massey can be found in a number of other projects. He's been active in the industry since Cory In the House went off air in 2008, landing parts in Gotham, Being Mary Jane, and animated series Fish Hooks and Might Magiswords. Plus, he's started a burgeoning career in music, recently appeared in stoner comedy Ripped, and is next set to star in upcoming action flick Lowlifes, which hits theaters Dec. 2.

So while Cory Baxter may not be popping up in Raven's Home just yet, fans can still get their Massey fix in plenty of other ways.
