'RHONY's Luann Is Asking For Privacy Surrounding Her Divorce

Divorce is rarely ever easy, and thanks to the world of reality television, fans often have a front row seat to all of the action. Real Housewives of New York's Luann and Tom D'Agostino are the latest celebrity couple to walk down that plank. And according to Luann's Twitter announcement, the couple are officially calling it quits after just seven months of marriage. With rumors of the two splitting hitting the airwaves as recent as July, it's only right that RHONY fans are wondering why Luann and Tom are getting divorced. And although neither party has shared any definitive answers just yet, that doesn't stop folks from speculating.

According to People, by way of an insider close to the couple, "trust issues" may have contributed to many of the the pair's rumored issues over the course of their relationship. And seeing as Tom has had a history of infidelity, and being linked romantically to a couple of Luann's Housewives' castmates — leading many to dub him as a "Housewive's groupie" — this doesn't sound too farfetched.

Whatever the reason for the split may be, Luann noted in her announcement that she and Tom still "care for each other very much," and asked for privacy during this crucial life transition.

The countess turned wife — and now, soon-to-be-divorcee for the second time over — may be a strong and powerful businesswoman, but that doesn't mean that she has immunity from feeling any kind of emotions over her most recent major loss. And just about anyone that's been through a breakup can attest to the fact that the wound takes quite some time to heal.

Luann has been through a lot over the years, and the Bravo cameras have been around to capture many of those low points. It seems like the stardom could be a bit abrasive — especially when dealing with major issues such as this — but lucky for Luann, this also means that she has an entire network of ladies to turn to who know all too well what she's experiencing.

The Housewives may bicker, and even come to blows at times, but someone is bound to offer a shoulder for Luann to lean on. And who knows... maybe another girl's trip to Mexico could be on the horizon?
