Lady Gaga Is Reportedly Engaged

It sounds like congratulations could be in order! Singer and actor Lady Gaga is reported to be engaged to Christian Carino. According to Us Weekly, the couple got engaged earlier in the summer, but have not made plans for their wedding due to Gaga's health and recovery. The singer has had to postpone a number of shows during her recent tour due to her struggles with chronic pain. Bustle reached out to Gaga's representative and to Carino for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.

However, Gossip Cop is reporting that Gaga and Carino are not engaged. Their sources claim that the insiders who spoke to Us were incorrect. Gossip Cop also reports that a rep for Gaga has called the engagement reports "untrue."

Rumors of a romance first began circulating after Gaga and Carino were photographed kissing backstage at the 2017 Super Bowl (where Gaga performed), and were also spotted together at a Kings of Leon concert, People reports. An onlooker claimed that they were seen being "affectionate" with one another at the concert. So it came as pretty much no surprise when sources confirmed to Us that Gaga and Carino were in fact dating in February 2017.

Carino is a talent agent with the Creative Artists Agency. Per People, he previously dated Lauren Cohan (who is best known for playing Maggie on The Walking Dead). In addition to being Gaga's agent, he also represents a number Hollywood A-listers including Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Simon Cowell, Miley Cyrus, and Jennifer Lopez, so clearly he's no stranger to show business.

Although they've kept relatively quiet about their relationship, Gaga made things Instagram official when she shared a photo of herself and Carino to her Instagram Story just a little over a week or so ago, on Oct. 22.

Talk about a beautiful shot! If the sources who spoke to Us are correct, then Gaga and Carino could have been engaged in the photo she shared to Insta. But remember, the engagement isn't official at the moment, as Lady Gaga nor Carino have confirmed. Us claims that the couple got engaged earlier this summer, and that Carino first asked Gaga's father Joe Germanotta for permission to marry his daughter.

Gaga, who's birth name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, was previously engaged to Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney. Although Gaga and Kinney announced their breakup back in July 2016, the two appear to have remained good friends. Kinney was photographed at an event for Gaga's Born This Way Foundation in December 2016 and was recently spotted at one of her concerts in Chicago this past August.

As she documented in her Netflix special, Five Foot Two, Gaga has struggled with chronic pain for years and recently shared that she had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia in September. After being hospitalized, Gaga was forced to cancel a scheduled concert during Rock in Rio and also postponed the European leg of her tour.

"I have always been honest about my physical and mental health struggles," Gaga explained in a note shared to social media at the time. "It is complicated and difficult to explain, and we are trying to figure it out." Although unconfirmed, the source who spoke to Us claims that Gaga and Carino want to focus on Gaga's recovery and are in no rush to get married. Us reported that they do not have any wedding plans made yet.

Whether or not they are officially engaged or are just dating — Gaga and Carino certainly do look happy in photos together, especially the one Gaga recently shared. So kudos to the couple for their successful relationship.
