This 'Southern Charm' Star Is Close With His Folks
Anyone hooked on Bravo's reality series Southern Charm may know that the new season of the show will bring some changes. The series, which chronicles the lives of socialites in Charleston, South Carolina, is about to enter its fourth run on the channel. While the concept behind the show, to get a glimpse into the lives of wealthy bachelors and bachelorettes in the South, has remained constant, the show's casting has switched up several times. The fourth season will no longer feature Whitney Sulder-Smith, and Austen Kroll will take her place. While fans are just getting to know the new star, one thing is for sure; Austen's parents might be as interesting as the Southern Charm star himself.
In the Southern Charm newcomer's Bravo TV bio, it states that he was born and raised in South Carolina. The description also credits his parents with his upbringing, and it reads, "his parents Tom and Wendy raised him to be the contagiously charismatic, undoubtedly kind and relentlessly loyal friend that every southern gentleman should strive to be." So, who exactly are Tom and Wendy Kroll?
While little is known about Austen's parents professional lives, social media reveals a lot about their social lives. Austen posts pics with his parents often, and it's clear that the whole family enjoys fine dining, leisure sports, and other social events.
Austen's family has spent much of their lives in the South. While his parents are based in North Carolina, they also own a home on Kiwaneh Island outside of Charleston. Austen, meanwhile, attended the University of Alabama, where he majored in Business Administration and General Management. These days, he is pursuing his passion, craft beer, and works for Red Hare Brewing Company. It seems, also, that Austen spends a lot of time with his parents. A self-proclaimed golf lover, he recently hit the course with his father.
Golf isn't the only sport that Austen's parents enjoy, though, as the whole family also gets together for football. Wendy, Tom, and Austen all cheer for the Panthers, and can often be found the in NFL sidelines.
Of course, sports teams don't tell us a whole lot about the Krolls' family background. It's apparent that the trio are close and that Austen got his love of the luxurious lifestyle from his parents, but the reality star has yet to open up more about his folks. Find out more about how Austen and his family fit into the whole Southern Charm series when it returns on April 4.
