The Teen Choice Awards are upon us, and that means another night spent scouring the carpet (and stage) for some of the biggest names in television, film, and music. Noticeably absent from this year's ceremony is a certain "Fetish" singer, who's up for a number of surfboards. So, dear Selenators, where is Selena Gomez during the 2017 Teen Choice Awards?
The star has yet to address why she was MIA for the show, but it doesn't take more than a quick Google search to realize how packed her schedule has been in recent months. In March, she rolled out her controversial but ultra popular teen drama, 13 Reasons Why, on Netflix — on which she's an executive producer — and the show's team is already working on a Season 2. She's also been steadily putting out new music, including May single "Bad Liar" and last month's "Fetish," which could very well mean a new album is in the pipeline.
Plus, she's been been spending quite a lot of time with her new beau, The Weeknd (a.k.a. Abel Tesfaye). In fact, the two were spotted out a comedy show in West Hollywood on Saturday night. And, finally, Gomez tweeted just before the awards that she has a listening party and Q&A scheduled for Monday afternoon, so it's likely she needed to rest up.
Basically, the singer is a busy woman, and, unfortunately, that means she sometimes has to be selective about which events she's able to attend.
