Daario Naharis' 'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 Fate Is A Mystery

by Sabienna Bowman

Characters who last more than one season on Game of Thrones deserve some sort of medal considering how often people die in Westeros. That Daenerys' right-hand man and occasional lover Daario Naharis is still alive after four seasons by the Dragon Queen's side should be celebrated. But there's an excellent chance you're wondering where Daario will be in Game of Thrones Season 7, if the character appears at all. Even though the former sellsword was very much alive at the end of Season 6, that doesn't mean he'll be back anytime soon.

Before she set sail for Westeros, Daenerys tasked Daario with keeping the peace in Meereen as the people work on establishing a government. His job is an important one, even though he was primarily left behind because Tyrion advised their Queen that having a lover in Westeros could be a liability. There's been no word yet on whether or not Daario will disobey his orders and attempt to follow Daenerys to Westeros, but for now it seems he'll be across the Narrow Sea during Season 7.

That doesn't mean the warrior will never appear again though. As Winter Is Coming reports, actor Michiel Huisman told Entertainment Tonight he knows whether or not he will ever appear on Game of Thrones again, but he's not allowed to reveal anything else. If his story was over, it's unlikely he would be sworn to secrecy.

As of right now, there's no reason not to believe Daario isn't following his Queen's command and staying put in Meeren. However, once the city's power structure stabilizes, Daario could hop a boat to Westeros just in time for the big climatic battle. Since he's still very much alive, the character remains a wild card that could come into play when you least expect.

While he's proven himself to be a wise strategist, Daario is an even better fighter. With the threat of White Walkers looming in Westeros, his talents would be better put to use if he was wielding a sword instead of forming a government. Much like other fan favorite characters who fell off the map, like Gendry, The Hound, and the Blackfish, it's best not to count Daario out just yet.
