While Kim Kardashian dove into Kylie Cosmetics-occupied beauty pool with the launch of KKW Beauty last week, Kylie Jenner is going beyond makeup and self-branded merch with her next collab. The makeup maven is all about accessories, so Kylie Jenner and Aussie sunglasses brand Quay have teamed up for a collection.
OMFG! Jenner is a style influencer, because duh, and Quay shades are always on trend and super affordable. Jenner was hands-on and worked with the design team on these shades. When is the Kylie x Quay — it's pronounced like "key"— collection available to shop? How much are they? What styles?
Chill for a hot second. I have all the details about the capsule collection, which arrives Jul. 11 on the Quay site and at global retailers.
According to Women's Wear Daily, the collection is limited edition and will feature four styles, including an oversized shield, sportswear-inspired aviators, petite cat-eye frames, and minimal geometric shades. Each pair will come packaged with a premium case and a cleaning cloth. That means you can keep your Kylie x Quays safe and protected in their own container and ensure that the lenses remain free of smudges, fingerprints, makeup, and scratches.
The Kylie x Quay sunnies will cost $75 to $80, which is slightly higher than the usual Quay shade prices, which are usually around $40 to $60.
Quay founder Linda Hammond told WWD, "We've found the perfect collaborator in Kylie. Her social media influence is unparalleled and she is known for her dynamic style and edge that her followers want to emulate." Hammond is not wrong on any of those points.
Jenner is also a Quay loyalist, as she often seen wearing the budget-but-on-trend glasses on her Instagram (as above) and while out and about being snapped by the paps.
Clearly and in general, sunnies are a crucial or "Quay" part of Jenner's style. She also previously teamed up with charity brand DIFF to promote their pink aviators.
Jenner's shades game is always on point, be it Quay or otherwise. I am looking forward to seeing the silhouettes and what variety of colors each shape comes in.
