Meghan Markle's Last 'Suits' Episode Is Coming Soon & The Details Are Interesting
As Meghan Markle's acting career comes to a close in the wake of her recent engagement to Prince Harry, details about Markle's final Suits episode continue to be revealed. The final eight episodes of the Season 7 are to premiere on Wednesday, March 28, Patrick J. Adams and Markle's final episode of Suits will reportedly air as the show's two-hour season finale on April 25, according to Us Weekly. On top of that, her on-screen narrative may actually share a bit of parallel with her real life.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Adams, who plays Mike Ross, Rachel Zane's love interest on the show, said that the characters will likely go on to live happily ever after. Though not specific on details about how Rachel and Mike will be written out of the legal drama, which Deadline reveals was recently renewed for Season 8, Adams explained:
"A lot of times when actors leave shows, a gun gets pulled out in a courtroom or something. Without spoiling too much, yes, I think Mike and Rachel are two characters that there has never been any question that they’re in love and that they’re meant for each other and that they’re willing to go to great lengths and sacrifice a ton in order to keep their relationship going. It just so happens that the timing of how I was feeling [about leaving Suits] and what was going on in Meghan's life created an opportunity where there was no need to force some conflict or tear Mike and Rachel apart. It allowed us to go on to whatever happens next for Mike and Rachel together."
While the theory that Rachel and Mike will tie the knot is just speculation at this point, Adams' comments do seem to mean that the longtime on-screen couples' romance will remain intact as their storylines come to an end.
Though he was careful not to share too much about how their characters will hopefully wed, Adams nonetheless offered a few words of advice to fans of the long running series: "The only thing I can say is that you should really watch episode 16." He went on to share that, although he and Markle — both of whom have been on the show since its first season — didn't officially have a chance to say their goodbyes, they "enjoyed the hell out of the last few episodes" that they filmed together.
While pointing out how drastically Markle's life has changed since Suits first premiered in 2011, Adams said that they both kind of just knew that things were coming to an end "With Meghan, a lot went unsaid," he said. "Meghan has this whole crazy part of her life that’s just beginning now." He continued,
"There was this natural sense that we both knew that the time had come for both of us ... We both knew that we wouldn’t be coming back. It made every one of our scenes that much more special. We had a great time. We could laugh through it. Even the things that might have frustrated us about the show, they became things that we could have a good laugh about and compare notes on just how crazy this thing had become."
Markel and Prince Harry have been dating since mid-2016 and officially announced their engagement to the world this past November. Their set wedding date is May 2018, at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Markle's life has taken drastic change now that she's on a journey toward becoming a member the British Royal Family. She also recently shut down all of her social media accounts in order to comply with the rules of becoming a royal, making any details we can get about her final curtain call that much more interesting.
