It's time, it's time, it's finally time. The Orange Is The New Black Season 5 trailer is here, and there's a scene in it that raises some questions: what is Suzanne singing at what looks to be Poussey's funeral? About two minutes into the trailer, which was released on Tuesday, we're shown a scene with six of the Litchfield inmates seated in a circle, with Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren and Brook Soso featured most prominently. The lights are dim, the circle is lit by candles, and Suzanne has her eyes closed as she half-sings, half-intones something with the words, "Mighty spirit, we are ready to receive you."

The song appears to be an original one, and the circumstances of her singing it is the best clue as to why you won't be able to find it on the internet. The rest of the women have their eyes open, and are shooting glances at each other while giggling uncomfortably at the solemnity of the occasion. But Suzanne is taking it incredibly seriously, just as she does with everything in her life. The whole situation has the aura of a séance to me, with Suzanne calling out to a "spirit" to come speak to them, saying they're ready to receive its wisdom. Since Poussey Washington is the most recent — not to mention traumatic — death to take place on the show of late, I would imagine they're trying to summon her spirit.

That theory is borne up by the prominent placement of Poussey's girlfriend Soso in the circle right next to Suzanne, and the fact that Suzanne's singing suggests that she's the one leading the ceremony. Take a look at the trailer, below, beginning at 1:57.

The scene and the song could also be related to some other Season 5 plot point that we haven't come across yet. But, if it's connected to something from Season 4, Poussey's death is my best guess. So yes my theory is that this is some sort of séance, and that Suzanne is singing in an attempt to summon the spirit of her deceased friend, rather than just singing in general.

But, of course, we'll have to wait until OITNB Season 5 premieres on Jun. 9 to know for sure.
