This 'Bachelor Winter Games' Suitor Is Sure To Be The Source Of Some Drama This Season

The Bachelor Winter Games (supervising producer: Lindsay Liles) will be the first time that many American fans get a look at some of the stars of some of the franchise's international editions, who come from countries as far-flung as China and New Zealand. But there's one very intriguing character on the show who hails from America's neighbor to the North. Kevin Wendt won Season 1 of The Bachelorette Canada, but clearly things didn't work out as planned, as he's heading to the Winter Games. So what happened?

On the first season of The Bachelorette Canada, firefighter and ex-navy member Kevin competed alongside 19 other men for the heart of hair stylist Jasmine Lorimer. Lorimer eventually chose Wendt, but the two split up only five months later. According to an Instagram post by Lorimer, she explained that "our differences and the physical distance have taken a toll on us and a couple of months ago, we decided to end our relationship and take some time to work on ourselves individually." Now, Wendt is single and ready to take another shot at love on The Bachelor Winter Games, but what should his fellow athletes in romance expect from this Canadian contestant? If his appearance on The Bachelorette Canada is any indication, things are going to get emotional.

Like any good season of The Bachelorette, no one makes it to the end without hitting a few road bumps. The Star reported that well before getting the final rose, Wendt was getting into a "tiff" with Lorimer over her still dating other men despite the fact that she literally has to do that as long as she is The Bachelorette. While they eventually made good on that, they ended up getting into another argument just before he was given the final rose. As Us Weekly reports, Lorimer and Wendt got rather heated during their time together in a fantasy suite, but not in the way that is intended. The conflict that brewed between him and Lorimer resulted in him walking out.

While their relationship had a few conflicts during their time together on the show, that wasn't enough to squash the chemistry that the two of them had found with each other. The relationship eventually did suffer at the hands of the real world, but Kevin Wendt proved that he was interested in finding a real relationship. While The Bachelorette Canada may not have worked out for Wendt, there's no reason that he wouldn't be able to find love on The Bachelor Winter Games.

Of course, there's also a chance that the drama and conflict that he brought to The Bachelorette Canada may follow him to Winter Games. One advertisement for the series showed a brief clip of Wendt telling a crying woman, "please don't get upset." Kevin Wendt may be ready to take another shot at love, but he may not be able to make a relationship omelette without cracking a few emotional eggs along the way.

While winning The Bachelorette may not have provided Wendt the love he seeks, he may prove to be better suited for Winter Games. While The Bachelorette featured Kevin competing against 19 other men for one woman, Winter Games features a smaller number of men competing for a larger number of women, meaning that he may not feel the pangs of jealousy that he felt when trying to court Lorimer. Winter Games will not only be a second chance for Wendt, but will also introduce him to an international audience for the first time. And while his fellow Canadian cast mate Benoit might know his history on the show, the international stage may be just the place for redemption.
