Smashbox Is Entering The Metallic Lip Game
A new day, a new liquid lipstick. Following in the footsteps of MILK's Liquid Metals, Lancôme's Le Metallique Metallic Lip Lacquers, and Too Faced's Melted Chocolate, this new one is, duh, a metallic. But it's truly a "come one, come all," situation, especially when said newness is from Smashbox, purveyors of the knock-your-socks-off Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick. The brand's new Be Legendary Liquid Pigment combines that rich, saturated delivery with a new metallic finish, making for a world of pretty. What colors does Smashbox's Be Legendary Liquid Pigment come in? It's the best part.
The brand went for a targeted approach with this launch, releasing the Pigment in three colors. No complex metaphors here — there's metallic rose-gold Petal Metal, bronze Brains 'N' Bronze and fittingly mauve Mauve Squad. Each color is $24, and claims to deliver a "mirror-like, metallic finish" with "maxed-out color in a single coat."
Metallic is hot right now — see the roll call above, plus Touch in Sol's new Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duo and also, of course, the Lust 004 that Pat McGrath Labs brought back for a limited time on Thursday. Still, check out Smashbox's iteration and prepare to melt.

Larger than life and fluid steel strong, but with a multidimensional vibe. Basically the Wonder Woman of lipstick.

Hi again, rose gold, didn't see you there. Your reign continues.

My personal favorite is Brains 'N' Bronze, and not just for the name. The bronze pigment will play stunningly on darker skin tones, while adding '90s drama to fairer complexions.
