The Best Shoes To Wear With Cropped Jeans

by Phoebe Avison

Now I'm not one to give strict sartorial advice to anyone, but sometimes you come across occasions or situations when a certain garment or style of accessory is super appropriate. With warmer weather approaching, you might be wondering, what are the best shoes to wear with cropped jeans? Because you may want to give your ankles a breath of fresh air as the temperature starts to rise.

As a fashion and beauty writer, of course I have my own sense of style and I lean towards certain aesthetics more than others. However, this doesn't mean that I agree with the archaic, often sexist and sizeist fashion "rules" that are somehow still in existence. As a woman in 2017, you'll likely be familiar with the nonsensical term "flattering" and it may be ingrained into your brain that you must not, under any circumstances, wear white after Labor Day. IMO, these outdated rules need to be banished from our fashion vocab and be replaced with more inclusive, positive phrases instead; ones that lift people up instead of bashing them to the ground.

When it comes to the best shoes to wear with cropped jeans, the answer is simple: Your favorite, most fabulous pair. Gorgeous shoes can get lost underneath swathes of denim, when worn with regular jeans. But, when you wear cropped jeans, the attention is solely on the shoes.

With this in mind, here are an array of utterly divine shoes that would look phenomenal with cropped jeans.

While there are certainly no "dos and don'ts" when it comes to fashion, you might want to steer clear of long boots and cropped jeans, purely because you won't be able to see the cropped cut of your jeans or your killer boots, depending on how you wear them. At the end of the day, you should wear whatever shoes you want with your cropped jeans — as long as you find them comfortable and they show off your personality, you can't go wrong!
