Tom Holland Fans Have So. Many. Feelings. Over Spider-Man Potentially Leaving The MCU
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has dished up some serious twists over the years, but a recent scoop regarding Spider-Man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be the most shocking yet. Far less shocking? The fan reactions to Spider-Man potentially leaving the MCU. On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Deadline reported that Spider-Man may be leaving the MCU in the wake of Disney and Sony's dispute (Disney owns Marvel and Sony has the rights to the character), although no changes are set in stone just yet. (Bustle reached out to Sony, Disney, Marvel, and Tom Holland's rep regarding the reports.)
Though this is not necessarily the end of Spider-Man on the silver screen —according to Deadline's sources, there are apparently two Spider-Man movies in the works that will star Holland and be directed by Jon Watts — it could mean the end of Holland's Peter Parker in the MCU. Ugh, and right after he became a member of the Avengers, too.
Fans have lots of feelings about it this report— especially fans of Holland's portrayal of Peter Parker in the Marvel franchise. Because again, this could mean there is no more Tom Holland in the MCU in our future. This possibility is not something to be taken lightly.
Some Fans Are At A Loss For Words

Just Think Of All The Missed Opportunities
If Holland's Peter Parker doesn't get to be part of the MCU, it's likely he won't take part in future Avengers movies. And all the crying pics in this tweet sum up how fans feel about that.

The Only Possible Reaction
This tweet sums things up pretty clearly.
There's Still A Chance, You Guys
Sure, things may be a little awkward now after all this public outcry, but that doesn't mean all hope is lost. Maybe Disney and Sony will find a way to work things out?
Yes, it's been an emotional rollercoaster, but it's worth keeping in mind no official announcements have been made, even if the reports have sent quite a rumbling through the fandom. Hopefully there will be more clarity soon for all the Holland and MCU fans currently coping with a (potentially) broken heart.
