While Kylie Cosmetics, Huda Beauty, and others asserted themselves as developing brands to watch (and to shop) in the beauty realm in 2016, there is a fledgling brand that is quietly positioning itself for big things in 2017. Storybook Cosmetics creates makeup and brushes inspired by works of literature. The brand took inspo from Harry Potter with a brush set and recently teased an archery-themed set of makeup tools dubbed Bullseye Brushes. I am predicting big things for Storybook Cosmetics in 2017, since it's filling a white space, meshing beauty with braininess, and basically doing something that no one else is. The brand isn't rushing its wares to market, instead taking time to carefully craft products. That didn't stop Storybook Cosmetics from offering a sneak peek of the upcoming Wizardry & Witchcraft Palette, which is, of course, shaped like a book.
Judging from the clip, there are 12 shadows in matte and shimmer textures and that span the color spectrum. This appears to be an unfinished prototype and the final palette could go through more changes. But it's looking good so far, at least in terms of the shadows themselves. I expect the outer packaging to be pretty epic!
Have a look at the Storybook Wizardry & Witchcraft Palette.
It's a quick look but it is certainly strong enough to get you excited for what the future holds.
Here is the caption from the photo. The palette is expected to be out in early-to-mid 2017. That's not exactly soon and might seem like an eternity for makeupistas with a bookish side. Still, it's best to let the brand do its thing and finish the palette carefully.
This is the makeup brush set. Gorg, right?
Both books and makeup can be magical because they both require you to use your imagination to create something artistic!
Expect Storybook Cosmetics to be a breakout indie beauty brand in 2017.
