It's been almost six months since a new episode of Pretty Little Liars has aired, which is frustrating to say the least. But what about a brand new photo to hold you over? A new PLL Season 7B premiere photo features Alison, Emily, Spencer (yes, she's still very much alive), Hanna, and Aria expressing concern. I mean, when aren't they freaking out over something — or someone? They live extremely complicated, dramatic, and scary lives.
So what the heck could the following photo be teasing? Why do the Liars look so frightened? Of course, it could be a number of things, especially based on how the Season 7A finale ended. From Alison's pregnancy to Ezra's reunion with Nicole to Spencer getting shot to Mary Drake telling Spencer she is her biological mother to Noel Kahn's head getting chopped off... the episode delivered on several levels.
Based on the logline for the April 18 premiere, it sounds like the final 10 episodes will focus on the Liars trying, once again, to put "their lives back together." Obviously, that's easier said than done, especially when the midseason premiere is titled "PlAytime." Seeing as A.D.'s identity is still unknown, you know they're going to continue having sick and twisted fun with the Liars.
You'll have to wait until the remaining episodes air to find out what exactly that means or how things will wrap up for good, but until then, let's try and speculate over why Alison, Emily, Spencer, Hanna, and Aria look so worried.
A.D.'s Mysterious Gift
In a clip from April's premiere released in January, the Liars receive a mysterious gift from A.D. with a tag reading, "It's playtime!" The gift comes in a huge black box with an over-the-top red ribbon. What's inside the box? You'll have to watch to find out, but there's a good chance the above photo filled with concern comes after opening A.D.'s not-so-sweet present.
A.D. Is Still Out There
This gift and A.D.'s message is their way of telling the Liars that they are still very much out there. That alone is enough to cause worry amongst the five women.
What's On The Table?
If you study the photo, it looks like there's something on the table. It could be anything, but maybe they're blueprints or instructions for what A.D. wants the Liars to do next. Of course, it could also be something blackmailing all of them. At this point, who the heck knows.
A.D.'s Game Continues
As the midseason premiere's description teases, "Meanwhile, A.D. has a special delivery for the Liars, one that reveals the final endgame. The Liars realize this latest gift pushes things to a whole new level." Yeah, no wonder they don't look relaxed at all in the image.
Something Unpredictable
Why they're concerned may not even have anything to do with A.D., but rather something completely different. You never know with PLL.
It Will Never End
Maybe they're worried that they will never lead "normal" lives? I mean, I'd have an unsettling expression plastered across my face too if I lived in Rosewood.
Basically, this particular photo is trying to tell fans to be concerned, because Spencer, Hanna, Emily, Aria, and Alison have a lot in store for them before they hopefully get their happy endings.
