This Facebook Hack Sorts You Into Your Hogwarts House In One Step

It's an auspicious day, Potterheads: the day we no longer need Pottermore to tell us where we'd live at Hogwarts. You can now be sorted into your Hogwarts house on Facebook with this neat trick, but you might not be happy with the results.

The sorting trick is pretty simple. Just go to any Facebook post and type H-o-g-w-a-r-t-s.com into a comment to generate a link that will tell you what Hogwarts house you belong in. You will have to actually submit the comment — the link will not auto-generate otherwise — so it's best to do it at a bit of a run if you're nervous.

Obviously, sorting yourself into a Hogwarts house using this Facebook trick isn't as scientific as the test on Pottermore, or even one of BuzzFeed's myriad quizzes. The link appears to randomly select one of the four houses to display. The first time I tried it, the Facebook trick told me I was a Gryffindor. Another attempt produced a Hufflepuff result, but kept the Gryffindor house crest. I'm a Slytherin, so naturally, my father will hear about this.

According to Metro, the link went into maintenance from overuse on Tuesday, but it appears to be up and running today. Use it to find out what your Hogwarts house is, and share your results with me on Twitter!
