Stop what you're doing. There are some major new wedding goals in town. Think of your wedding day, now try to think of the one thing that could make it more magical. A horse and carriage? Nope. More diamonds? No way. The one and only thing that could improve a wedding is... wait for it... pizza. Everyone knows that. And two visionary people just made it happen. That's right— they had a pizza wedding cake.
Jess Melara and Tony Sanchez are two people (and heroes) who know what they want and how to get it. He's a professional baseball player, so there was a baseball theme running through the event.
“Tony and I love pizza and aren’t huge fans of cake, so we surprised our guests with pizza cake,” Melara told Wedding Chicks. “It was saucy and delicious and what pizza dreams are made of.” Isn't she the best?
I mean, it is smart. Because weddings are normally for drinking and partying and I don't know any drunk people who crave cake. I know a whole lot of drunk people who crave delicious, delicious pizza. That's just a science fact. And when it's tiered pizza with a bride and groom topper? Even better.
Not only that, because it was all part of a baseball theme, there were Cracker Jacks on hand for dessert. Pure. Effing. Genius. Don't they look like the happiest couple you've ever seen?
And if a wedding is about bringing people together, what better focus than the food that brings everyone together? That food is, undeniably, unquestionably pizza. Well done, kids. May you have a happy, saucy marriage.
