Dakota Johnson & Chris Martin Might Be Dating & The Photos Are Totally Cute

In Hollywood, fans never know what celebrities will pair up next. Some couples even sneak up on fans out of nowhere, like Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson. These photos of Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin, which you can see at People, may definitely prove they're a (rumored) couple, and potentially even in love. Aww. The musician and actor have not yet publicly commented or confirmed their conscious coupling, but they were recently spotted on what could be a date per People, or could be an innocuous meeting between two famous and attractive people. Whether or not Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are together forever, it's definitely an interesting time for them to be spotted: Johnson has Fifty Shades Freed being released in theaters soon, and Martin's ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow just announced her engagement.

Paparazzi snapped photos of the two eating dinner and being cuddly at SoHo House in Malibu, California. As it turns out, this is not the first time it's been suggested that the two are dating. They might have been hiding in plain sight for longer than fans think. In December 2017, Observer reported that Johnson had attended a Coldplay concert, though that doesn't necessarily mean anything; perhaps Johnson enjoys the melodic tunes of the British band. In the same week, Us Weekly reported that Martin and Johnson had traveled to Israel together and suggests that their first date was back in October 2017. Very interesting indeed.

The pictures of the singer and actor on a date in Malibu over the weekend indicate that by January 2018, they were probably more than pals who happen to travel together and eat dinner at exclusive places like SoHo House.

Johnson and Martin might sound like an odd couple on the surface, but it's hard to deny the photos of them are cute. A few things are still unclear, though, like how the two met, and how long they've been dating. It's likely that fans hoping for an explanation can rule out "working together." Of the Fifty Shades stars, it seems that Jamie Dornan is musical; he even wrote a song for the upcoming soundtrack. Martin acts sparingly, and has mostly cameo'd as himself, like on Modern Family. And if you're wondering why Martin is in Malibu, well, Martin remained in Los Angeles after splitting from Paltrow. He told the Los Angeles Times in 2015 that he stayed to be close to his children and "wherever they live is my home."

Recently, Martin's ex Gwyneth Paltrow revealed she's engaged to TV writer and producer Brad Falchuk, whom she allegedly began dating just months after Martin and Paltrow's famous "conscious uncoupling" statement. Martin has not been seriously linked to anyone since the rumors that he was dating Jennifer Lawrence.

Fan site World of Dakota posted a few more pictures of Martin and Johnson to their Twitter account on Jan. 13. As you can see, the rumored couple is all smiles on their reported night out.

Even in the photos, you can tell that this rumored couple's chemistry is evident, and their "hiding-from-cameras-but-not-really" tactic doesn't seem to hide their affection for each other. If they are indeed dating, fans would likely suppor it. They would be such a talented duo and who knows — maybe this could mean Coldplay might do a Fifty Shades song at some point? I mean, you never know.

Dakota Johnson is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson and plays Ana in the Fifty Shades movie franchise. Martin is the frontman of the band Coldplay, which released the hit album A Head Full of Dreams, which featured the songs "Adventure for a Lifetime," "Up & Up," and "Hymn for the Weekend."
