Theories About Jordan & Aaron Rodgers' Feud
Usually, Hollywood has nothing on the bonds between famous siblings, but so far, the estrangement between Bachelorette star Jordan Rodgers and his brother, NFL star Aaron Rodgers, still lives on, even though neither of them have ever confirmed what exactly caused it. Jordan opened up about it a little bit on The Bachelorette when things started getting serious with JoJo Fletcher, but he never explained what went wrong. And it's not like Aaron is talking, either — the Green Bay Packers player has remained more silent about it than Jordan has. Even still, the internet has plenty of theories about Jordan and Aaron Rodgers' relationship that could help decipher what's going on between these two.
Although their relationship is something that Jordan and Aaron avoid talking about publicly, they have both released statements about it — even though they were both totally clear of any kind of details. Earlier this month, Aaron told The New York Times, "I just don't think it's appropriate talking about family stuff publicly." And as for Jordan? In an interview with E! Online about his family drama coming to light on The Bachelorette, he said,
"Family things are always tough, and they're always tough to address, let alone on a TV show. But I knew I made a commitment to go on there and be honest with JoJo and make sure that she knew everything because we didn't have any time off-camera and we were going to get to a proposal. So you have to be honest, you have to trust she believes in the person you are."
Since Jordan and Aaron have stayed mum, we only have these theories to rely on — and of course, there's no way of knowing if any of these theories are true, especially since there's so little information out there about their estrangement to begin with. And like most theories about these kinds of situations, some of them are absolutely ridiculous... but some of them sound like they could be a little plausible. None of them are as good as the real story, but so far, the real story is totally unknown publicly.
Here are the theories out there about Jordan and Aaron. Just in case the truth never surfaces, these guesses just might have to do.
It Started With Drama Over A Friend's Wedding
According to what a source who claims to be close to the family told sports gossip blog Terez Owens, this all started when Aaron dropped out of being a groomsman in a longtime friend's wedding. Luke, Aaron and Jordan's brother, actually was in the wedding, and posted an Instagram photo afterward with sassy captions like "#truefriendsshowup" and "#rememberwhereyoucamefrom." Yikes. The source claimed this was also related to the family's relationship with Aaron's girlfriend, Olivia Munn, which leads us to...
It's All Olivia Munn's Fault
Last year, a source told Us Weekly that Munn doesn't get along with the rest of the family, and that has caused the rift between them. Reportedly, the Rodgers family thinks that Aaron just stopped talking to them, while Aaron's supposed side of the story is that he cut ties because they don't like Munn. Hmm.
And as for Munn's side of the story? She's staying silent, too, although she did share a few words about the feud during an interview with Entertainment Tonight last May. She said, "Aaron doesn't really ... I don't think he's really talked with his brother. So, I actually don't know. It's complicated — I'll say that."
Aaron Feels Used By Jordan For Fame
While Fletcher's season of The Bachelorette was airing, rumors that Jordan was simply on the show because of his hunger for fame were everywhere, and one of the theories behind his split with Aaron sounds pretty similar. According to what an anonymous source told Hollywood Life, Aaron reportedly felt Jordan just wanted to ride on his coattails to become famous, especially since he did mention his brother's name on The Bachelorette a few times.
Jordan Thinks Fame Got To Aaron's Head
In the flip side of this argument, the same source told Hollywood Life that Jordan's upset with Aaron for supposedly changing after he became a mega NFL star. The insider claimed:
"Jordan and Luke have felt over the years that his success and fame have changed Aaron. At times Aaron is absent from important family and friend events. The estranged brothers feel like Aaron has forgotten his roots. They, too, are disappointed in Aaron and it is a sad situation they hope time will heal.”
Whatever caused their separation, if their relationship can be repaired, I hope it happens. Maybe we'll see Aaron at Jordan and JoJo's future wedding? Crazier things have happened!
