'RHONY' Truth Or Dare Is The Best Truth Or Dare

It’s no secret that I think this season of Real Housewives Of New York has been boring AF — the show is focusing too much on Tom and Luann’s marriage and Bethenny and Ramona’s feud to really be interesting. So, like they do when they need to drum up some excitement, Bravo took Real Housewives Of New York on the road! The crew headed up to Vermont to ski (most of the ladies), snowboard (Bethenny), and dish in the lodge (Dorinda and Carole), and I have to say — the Real Housewives Of New York truth or dare game that took place later in the evening at dinner was the most entertaining the show has been in years.

After arranging a lovely gourmet dinner to be cooked for them by expert chefs and restaurateurs, Bethenny, Ramona, and the other ladies sit down for some dishes and dishing. There is some squabbling about Luann and Tom (what else), but then Bethenny suggests a game of truth or dare to liven things up. I am always here for truth or dare, and this is where things liven up — the women confess when they first had anal sex (Tinsley, during her marriage, Dorinda, never), how big John’s member is, and that Carole claims to have once slept with George Clooney (after Doug Ross and before Danny Ocean, she says). The conversation was profane and hilarious and a little too much, and that’s what made it so great. They talked about things that I can't mention here for fear my mother will read it. It was the women of Real Housewives Of New York really having fun with one another, and that’s something we haven’t seen in a really long time. It was like these women were actually, you know, friends! It was nice to see laughing and joking and not screeching at each other.

Luann had to ruin it for a minute by talking (again) about how she was happy to be married and not single like the rest of the group, and this is when I thought the good times would end. Fortunately, it was only a little dust-up, and Bethenny and Dorinda especially give Luann the benefit of the doubt. Getting Luann to marriage wasn’t easy, and she’s allowed to glow in the honeymoon period. After that moment, things subside again, and everyone is happy. Everyone is happy until next week, when the previews make it look like Bethenny is going to make Ramona beg to be invited to Mexico. Honestly, if someone said to me what Ramona said to Bethenny, I’d do the same. The drama is coming on Real Housewives Of New York, but for one brief, raunchy game of truth or dare, everything was just right.
