This 'GOTG 2' Post-Credits Scene Is Groot-tastic

Baby Groot mania has gripped the nation and it's not hard to see why. In the trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we get to watch Baby Groot adorably disobey Rocket Raccoon's orders, munch on M&M's while a ship goes into turbulence, and even go into attack mode against a much larger opponent. Baby Groot is bae, to be perfectly honest. Spoilers ahead. Then again, there's a GotG 2 post-credits scene involving Teenage Groot and you guys, I think we may end up liking this Groot version more than Baby Groot; blasphemous, I know, but true.

In one of the five (yes, five) post-credits scenes in GOTG, we get to meet Teenage Groot. According to IGN, this post-credits scene shows Teenage Groot is growing fast. Teenage Groot is definitely staying true to his treelike roots and growing quickly; no doubt he'll be back to his full-sized, adult self by the time the Guardians show up for Avengers: Infinity War. What are you eating that's making you grow so fast, Teenage Groot?

Den of Geek also reports that Teenage Groot's post-credits scene is a comedic one, rather than one filled with MCU Easter eggs. In the scene, we watch Starlord (also known as Peter Quill) walk into Teenage Groot's room. It's a total mess because duh, teenagers be messy. Starlord admonishes Teenage Groot for leaving a mess. Because this is a teenager we're talking about, it's no surprise that Teenage Groot just rolls his eyes and continues playing his video game.

There's no doubt in my mind that this scene is just about the cutest and funniest bit of comedic relief since the great "Avengers eat shawarma" post-credits scene of 2012. This post-credits scene is also definitive proof (in my opinion) that Groot is forever the greatest Guardian at any stage in his life.
