On Tuesday afternoon, Apple really outdid itself. It's safe to say the company went above and beyond by announcing the release of not just one new iPhone generation, but two: the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and the iPhone X. The Apple team has proven that it's been hard at work over the past several months, but now, Twitter users are saying the iPhone X basically makes the 8 obsolete. Let's face it, the new model with the largest display yet steals the show. But there are still reasons you might opt for the 8 or 8 Plus instead.
It's true — the X's 5.8 inch display outdoes the iPhone 8's 4.7 inch display and the iPhone 8 Plus' 5.5 inch display. Then again, some Apple consumers actually prefer the iPhone 8's smaller screen, since it might be easier to hold or fit in your pocket. But that's not the only other X feature that's hogging the limelight. For the first time ever in Apple history, the X model does not include a home button on its screen. And it will allow you to unlock your phone through facial recognition as opposed to your thumbprint.
Though the iPhone 8 may not feature facial recognition, it will have the capability — like the iPhone X — to charge wirelessly. Additionally, One the iPhone 8's price point is a bit more reasonable if you're not trying to spend over $1,000 on your next phone. It's also important to consider how long you'd have to wait to receive each model and actually hold it in your hand. You'd have to wait until Oct. 27 at the earliest to pre-order the X, whereas the 8 or 8 Plus would ship on Sept. 22 if you pre-order now.
And after Tim Cook's build-up to the iPhone X release, fans didn't expect anything less.
Over the past decade, we've pushed forward with innovation after innovation, bringing us to this moment, when we can create devices that are far more intelligent, far more capable, and far more creative than ever before.
The question now is whether or not you should go for the iPhone 8 when you know you could save up and get the iPhone X — the real breakthrough model. But regardless of the fact that the iPhone X is clearly the top dog now, there are still plenty of reasons you may choose the iPhone 8 instead. The tough decision has Twitter absolutely shook.

Regardless of which you model you choose, keep in mind that this is probably going to be a big purchase. And remember, there's more decision-making to be had after you choose. If you pick the iPhone 8, you'll have the option of selecting one out of three colors. The iPhone X, on the contrary, comes in two colors. Hopefully you're not suffering from decision fatigue by that point.
