Unlike her former relationship with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez won't talk about The Weeknd. As Vogue's April cover star, the 24-year-old opened up about her life, taking a much-needed break to focus on her health, and why she's taking a step back from Instagram. However, the one thing the singer wouldn't discuss is her rumored relationship with The Weeknd. To be clear, neither of the musicians have confirmed they are dating, but there have been plenty of images that seem to say otherwise.

After Vogue asked her about her supposed romance with the "I Feel It Coming" singer, the outlet reported that Gomez said she will never talk about her relationships as openly as she's done in the past, because everything that she once said about her former romances seemed to result in some kind of negativity directed back at her.

"Look, I love what I do, and I’m aware of how lucky I am, but — how can I say this without sounding weird? I just really can’t wait for people to forget about me." As frustrating as her response might be to some, especially those who want details on her "relationship" with The Weeknd, it's completely understandable where she is coming from.

Ever since she was a child, the former Disney Channel star has been making headlines. Gomez hasn't been able to escape the limelight, including when she dated Bieber. Gomez and the "Sorry" singer had an extremely public relationship. They had so many ups and downs and on and off moments, fans became invested in their romance wondering whether or not they were actually done with one another — even after they broke up.

Based on that and the fact that Gomez has struggled with her lupus diagnosis, including panic attacks, anxiety, depression, coupled with general pressure as a singer/actor, it totally makes sense why she's choosing to remain tight-lipped about her dating life. She already has so much to deal with on a daily basis and with constantly being in the public eye, why wouldn't she want to keep a relationship private? The Spring Breakers star has learned an important lesson when it comes to dating as a celebrity.

That's not to say Gomez won't ever talk about dating, but she'll most likely be careful about what she says, when she says it, and how she says it. As badly as you might want to hear about Gomez and The Weeknd, you're just going to have to respect her choice to keep her personal life off the radar.
