If you love pretty red carpet looks with a romantic twist, then you'll want to check out Sara Bareilles' Naeem Khan dress from the Tony Awards. The super cool singer is known for her lovely but totally down-to-earth style, and she didn't disappoint on Sunday night.
Bareilles walked the red carpet looking amazing in a semi-sheer dress that was just about the sparkliest thing I ever did see. With a high neck and long sleeves, the gown featured intricate sequin details and a floor length skirt, which cascaded down into even more sequins. She also wore her hair down, in classic Sara style, and rocked some naturally pretty wavy.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to see her perform. But she did present on stage and even made a funny appearance as her Waitress character during the show. Speaking of which, Bareilles has been killin' it as the title character of her Broadway hit (she wrote the score for it, btw). Since the show debuted last year, she's been showing off her five time Grammy Award-winning pipes, and the show's been selling tickets like crazy. It's really no wonder the singer was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Score last year, or that she wanted to arrive on Sunday night looking like the star she is.
The dress was definitely in keeping with her romantic red carpet vibes. At last year's Tony Awards, for example, Bareilles stunned in a shimmering champagne-colored Gomez-Gracia gown, complete with sparkly top and flowing gauzy bottom. I'm sensing a trend for her red carpet looks, and one that is perfectly Sara.
The singer truly knows how to be red carpet ready, without doing anything too over the top.
Even though this dress was sparkly AF, it was still in keeping with a style that's quintessentially "Sara."
Which was true of her hair, too. So relaxed and yet totally perfect for the red carpet.
Love her.
