Riggs & Meredith Confront Their Feelings On 'Grey's Anatomy' — VIDEO

All season long, the will-they won't-they of Meredith Grey and Nathan Riggs has teased Grey's Anatomy fans, but things are finally getting serious between the two. As shown in this exclusive clip for Thursday's episode, "Till I Hear It from You," Meredith's answer to dating Riggs may end up being a no, but not until he's had his say as well. After Riggs proposed the idea of going out a couple episodes ago, Meredith has kind of pushed the whole conversation from her brain. She's unsure if she really wants to go out with someone who's so hated by all the people she loves.

Still, Meredith has always been one of those people who listens to her heart over her brain — which is likely why she hasn't said yes or no yet to Riggs. She's internally at war with herself trying to decide. In the clip from this week's episode, Riggs approaches Meredith to let her know that he's OK if her answer is negative, as it's better than no answer at all. Meredith doesn't think his joking attitude is funny, though. This matter is serious to her, and I don't blame her for wanting a little more proof that Riggs is all in before she dives in too.

Meredith has been through a lot in her life, and it's clear that Derek's death is still a large part of her inability to jump into this new relationship. Earlier this month, Ellen Pompeo spoke to Access Hollywood at Paleyfest about this storyline and said, "The struggle for Meredith is how do you move on after you've lost someone that you loved so much? ... Moving on is not such an easy thing, so I'm happy to play that storyline and explore that storyline for all those women out there, or men, who have lost loved ones and have to figure out how to move on in the face of death."

It's clear that her feelings about Derek's death aren't going to evaporate overnight, but, at the same time, I don't think her feelings about Riggs will either. That's why she's willing to hear him out for what his reason is that she should date him. And, I can't wait to hear what Riggs has to say when Grey's Anatomy airs Thursday, March 23 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
