If You’re Freaking Out About Luann’s Divorce, You’re Not Alone
A wave of gasps rippled through the Bravoverse on Thursday when Page Six reported that Real Housewives of New York City’s Luann D’Agostino and Tom D’Agostino are splitting up after less than eight months of marriage. And a second round of gasps hit when the Bravolebrity tweeted confirmation. “It’s with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce,” Luann wrote. “We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!” Understandably, RHONY fans are freaking out on Twitter.
This news comes just weeks after Page Six reported that the D'Agostinos got into a huge altercation in public, claiming that Luann allegedly slapped Tom in a restaurant. The Countess denied the incident on Watch What Happens Live, telling Andy Cohen, “I did not slap him. We have a very passionate love affair going. We never go to bed angry, but if we do, we wake up and we make up.” In a statement to People, Luann attempted to snuff out the rumors about her relationship. “Tom and I are in love, and marriage takes work,” she told the publication. “We are working on this together.”
Luann and Tom’s issues didn’t begin this summer, however; their relationship (and all of the rumors, incriminating text messages, tears, history with other Housewives, and Regency sightings that went along with it) was basically the storyline of RHONY Season 8. Yes, their romance got off to a messy start. And yes, the other RHONY cast members let Lu know exactly how they felt about Tom. And yes, that whole Regency debacle is impossible to forget. And no, this news isn't exactly the most shocking news item of all time, but it is fairly shocking that it happened already.
All that being said, it's such a bummer to see Luann go through all of this. Forever rooting for you, Lu.
And if you're freaking out about Luann's divorce news, you aren't the only one. Here are some other RHONY fans who are having the same reaction.
