The Next 'Bachelorette' Is Here!

After 21 seasons of The Bachelor and 12 of The Bachelorette, the show has finally cast a black lead. On Jimmy Kimmel Live! Rachel Lindsay was announced as the first black Bachelorette, and she couldn't be more deserving. While it seems absurdly early to announce such a thing (she's still vying for Nick's heart on The Bachelor!), I'll take my historic Bachelorette news any way I can get it. I'm almost glad it seems things with Nick didn't work out, because Rachel will be an amazing Bachelorette.

Not only is she breaking racial barriers for the show, but she's also breaking age barriers. At 31, she will also be the oldest Bachelorette. When ABC goes historic, they really go for it. But Rachel is more than her race or age, she's also just an awesome lady. From dancing while vacuuming in her intro video to warning Nick not to mess with her dad, she's hilarious and goofy. But, Rachel has also had her serious moments on the show, opening up to Nick, voicing her thoughts on Corinne, crying when Kristina left, and more.

She's a smart lawyer with a good head on her shoulders and ABC could really do no better than her for Bachelorette. Now, we just have to buckle up and watch her ending on The Bachelor to see how everything turned out the way it did.
