Potterheads know that Friday is the day that Albus Severus, Scorpius, and Rose journey to Hogwarts for the first time, as shown in the Deathly Hallows epilogue and in Cursed Child. Now, fans can explore Hogwarts just like the Potters, Malfoys, and Granger-Weasleys, because Pottermore's Hogwarts experience has arrived in time for Harry Potter Day.
The interactive Hogwarts webpage from the official Harry Potter social network, "Welcome to Hogwarts" allows Pottermore users to fly through Hogwarts, Hagrid's Hut, the Quidditch pitch, and the Forbidden Forest to find hotspots: clickable orbs that provide both original information on the wizarding world and quotes from J.K. Rowling's best-selling novels.
Best of all, this new Hogwarts experience is 100-percent free. Just register for a profile on Pottermore, and you can enjoy the "Welcome to Hogwarts" fly-through as often as you like. Pottermore Global Digital Director Henriette Stuart-Reckling says that this new feature is unlike any Hogwarts incarnation we've seen before:
We’ve seen many interpretations of Hogwarts — from the artwork in the illustrated editions of the books to the eight feature films from Warner Bros. . . . This new feature on our website marks the first time fans will have the opportunity to explore the famous wizarding school any time, any place and at their own pace. It’s a unique, mobile-first experience using bespoke visual assets allowing anyone to 'visit' Hogwarts on-the-go.
