As anyone who’s ever searched for porn on the internet would know, there’s a ton of stuff out there. I'm talking an insane amount of different porn options out there, everyone on this planet is much guaranteed to find something that gets them excited. The possibilities are seriously endless. Thanks to Pornhub, we now know just how popular porn was in 2016. Just in case you were curious.

As always, Pornhub released their annual Year in Review report, where they highlight the biggest porn trends of the past year. In 2016, porn took up 3,110 petabytes of bandwidth or 3,110,400,000 GB. If you need more of a visual, Pornhub says that’s enough data to fill about 194 million USB drives. If you line them up from end to end, you’re looking at about 6,800 miles, or the entire circumference of the moon. That’s definitely a lot of porn. Keep in mind, this data comes from Pornhub's site alone. So just think of how much more porn is out there.

Pornhub released some great insight this year from how many hours of porn was watched to the total number of videos viewed. As you can probably guess, the numbers were huge. So, let’s take a look at porn in 2016 by the numbers:

91,980,225,000

That's the number of videos that were viewed on Pornhub in 2016. If you do the math, that equates to about 12.5 videos viewed per person on earth.

23 Billion

The number of total visits to Pornhub throughout the year. That adds up to 54 million visits per day, 2.6 million per hour, 44 thousand per minute, and 729 visits per second.

4,599,000,000

The total number of hours of porn that was watched in 2016. To break that down even further, that's about 191,625,000 days, 27,275,000 weeks, 425,641 years, 52,464 decades, and 5,246 centuries.

9:30

People spent an average of 9 minutes and 36 seconds per Pornhub visit worldwide. The Philippines spent the longest amount of time per visit at 12 minutes and 45 seconds followed by South Africa, the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Cuba spent the least amount of time on Pornhub clocking in at 4 minutes and 57 seconds per average visit.

26

The average percentage of female visitors worldwide. It's a two percent increase from 2015. The proportion of women to men watching porn in the Jamaica was the highest at 46 percent, followed by Micronesia, the Bahamas, Moldova and the Dominican Republic. In the U.S., 25 percent of Pornhub viewers were women.

35

The average age of Pornhub visitors. Those in the 18 to 24-year-old range had the biggest proportion of visitors at 31 percent, followed by 25 to 34-year-olds at 29 percent. The proportions only got smaller as the ages went up.

It is interesting to see how the popular searches differed between age groups. Lesbian, Step Sister, and Teen porn were most popular with the 18 to 24-year-old group. Japanese, Lesbian, and Step Mom were top searches for both the 25 to 34-year-olds and the 35 to 44-year-olds. The most popular search term for those 45 and up? MILF.

61

The percentage of people who use their phones to watch porn. The number of people watching porn on their phone increased by nine percent from 2015. Meanwhile, the number of desktop porn watchers dropped eight percent to 28 percent. Only 11 percent of Pornhub traffic came from tablets.

1,800

The number of virtual reality videos on the site. If you think that's nothing compared to the millions of different video options available, Pornhub actually just launched the VR category in April 2016 with only 30 videos. By the end of the year, they had over 1800 videos, with searches for VR content hitting over 38 million. All in less than a year.

594,003

The number of times Pikachu was searched for — in porn. Like I said before, when it comes to porn, the possibilities are seriously endless.

So another year's gone while another one's just beginning. No one knows what this 2017's going to bring. But whatever happens, we can always take comfort in the fact that we'll always have porn — and a lot of it.
