Lin-Manuel Artfully Keeps His Kid's Face Private
Celebrities don't play games when it comes to their children's privacy. From celebs like Kristen Bell speaking out about paparazzi not photographing celebrities' kids to Beyoncé posting playful photos of the back of Blue Ivy's head on Instagram, the passion and creativity is endless. When it comes to Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, he's a pro at keeping his son, Sebastian, hidden in plain sight. The Tony Award winner and avid Twitter user loves posting pics of his 2-year-old joining him at work, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. The thing is, Sebastian's face is always covered or turned.
Amidst my search, I found out some fun facts about Miranda's son. For instance, did you know he's bilingual? The 36-year-old told People magazine that Sebastian speaks English and Spanish and is learning a third language. "He's like a sponge and he's got a smattering of German, too," Miranda said. "My mother-in-law is Austrian, so he's got one language up on me."
Since Miranda spent the first year of Sebastian's life devoted to performing Hamilton, he's enjoying his off time with his boy and his wife, Vanessa Nadal. Check out some of Miranda and Sebastian's most precious moments together:
Sebastian's Opening Night
Miranda and Vanessa welcomed baby Sebastian on November 10, 2014. Always in theater mode, Miranda couldn't help but write a tiny screenplay to introduce his son properly to the world.
Following In His Father's Footsteps
At barely 1-year-old, Sebastian looked ready to star in Hamilton all by himself!
Channeling Linus From The "Peanuts"
Although Miranda chopped off his ponytail once he wrapped up Hamilton, Sebastian looks well on his way to growing his own.
The Matching Mirandas
Obviously, Sebastian will have a wealth of #tbts for the 'Gram when he grows up. Coordinating with your dad never goes out of style.
Cuddling Famous Composers
Despite his huge success composing Broadway smashes such as In the Heights and Hamilton, Miranda couldn't help but wish for his son to inherit some creative juices after meeting John Kander — composer of Caberet and Chicago.
Not Ready For A Close Up
Musical references are never far away in the Miranda household.
Jamming To The Moana Soundtrack
With Sebastian around, life has come full circle for the Moana composer. Miranda told ABC News he found out he was asked to write original songs for the Disney movie on the same day his wife announced her pregnancy.
Movie Night With The Mirandas
While Miranda may be taking a break from the stage, the movie theater is fair game. In November 2016, he told ABC News seeing Moana would be his son's first trip to the movies. Nice to see he kept his word.
Sebastian Has Big Shoes To Fill
Honestly, who wouldn't want to be in Miranda's shoes? Amirite? Sebastian is one lucky boy.
Although Sebastian's face remains a mystery, it's heartwarming to see him and his dad spending quality time together.
