The rumor that Olivia Munn was dating Anna Faris' ex-husband Chris Pratt started circulating in January, but both women want to clear the air. In an Instagram on Sunday, Olivia Munn shared texts to Anna Faris that shut down the dating rumor in the best way. Munn specifically wanted to address the talk that Faris was furious with the supposed couple, as a few publications were reporting. The two actors know each other, and Munn decided to clear the air with a direct text.

Rumors run fast on the internet, and fans might forget that celebrities have the ability to reach out to each other and can be in direct contact. While Munn didn't want to legitimize tabloid fodder, she decided to address the matter on social media and stop this rumor in it's tracks.

Munn's Instagram story featured several slides of text, and she addressed the false rumor and how everyone involved was being misrepresented. The first image read: "1. Not Everyone is scorned and upset by a breakup," and then, "2. Not every woman is furious at another woman for dating her ex." This part of the story seemed to bother both Munn and Faris the most, and it may have been what inspired the former to reach out. The fact that neither star seemed upset about the rumors shows how false it was, and that their friendship is clearly in tact.

In addition to disputing the claim that she was dating Pratt, Munn went on to point out how determined the tabloids seemed to be to pit the two women against each other.

When Pratt and Faris announced their decision to separate last year, both stars emphasized that the split was mutual and amicable. The two continue to co-parent their son, and Pratt even penned the prologue to Faris' recent memoir, Unqualified. There wasn't much reason to believe that Faris would be "scorned" or "furious" if her ex had moved on, which Munn points out. It's an important note, especially since Faris is rumored to be dating someone herself. Munn then went on to point out that many women have much more respect and love for each other than some people think.

The rumor that the X-Men: Apocalypse star might be dating Pratt began in January, after the two were reportedly spotted together at a restaurant. In April of 2017, Munn split from her longtime boyfriend, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, she denied the Pratt dating rumor outright and joked their celebrity couple name wouldn't work at all. "Chris and I would have a horrible celebrity name," she wrote, and gave some examples: "Crolivia, Prunn, Chrisivia, Olipratt".

Munn said that while she doesn't like to indulge tabloid stories, it seemed best to reach out to the Faris via text. She shared the exchange with the actor and podcast host, who she knows personally.

"Hey there! Sooo... I would never respond to random tabloid stories, but since we know each other I wanted to reach out to you personally to tell you the story about me and Chris dating has 0% truth," Munn wrote to Faris. "I'm sure you already know it's not true, or maybe didn't care either way, but I just wanted to reach out personally to tell you it's not true. Anyway, I hope you had an amazing holiday and an even better 2018".

Faris seemed to appreciate the gesture, and responded that there were no hard feelings. "Hi!!!! Oh my god - this town is f*cking crazy - you are so sweet to text-I love you-having said that if you were my new sister in law I would be thrilled! let's please catch up soon". Munn then finished the Insta-story with a picture of the two stars as emoji and a heart.

It's important to remember that celebrity rumors can often be false, and that they can impact their personal lives. In this case, Munn made sure that this false dating rumor didn't go any further by making this text exchange public.
