Shoes are a major element of Rihanna's Puma x Fenty line. Brand loyalists and sneaker pimps know how popular the Creepers are, be it suede, velvet, or cracked leather textures. The Rihanna slides are also incredibly desired, with the jelly version arriving in time for pedicure and open-toed shoe season. Rihanna's Puma Fenty Trainers got a makeover and the new kicks are designed for so much more than being worn to the gym. The $190 Fenty Trainer is certainly functional for athletic pursuits, but it's also meant to be worn in fashion-forward ways. It's that snazzy.

The Cypress and Sesame-hued versions of the new Trainer are currently available, while the black and white versions will be available on Thursday, Jun. 29, per the press materials that Bustle received from Puma PR.

So how different are the new Rihanna x Puma Fenty Trainers?

The Rihanna x Puma Fenty trainers have a bootie-like look. They are architectural and super sharp. They would look good while doing squats or while rocking leggings and running errands or meeting your BFF for brunch.

The previous versions of the Trainers came in black, white, and red. They also had an extended, higher tongue.

Let's look at the new and the old edition of the shoe.

Here is the stylish black version — and some flowers!— which drops later this month.

The new Trainers are less high-top looking and more bootie-like, IMO. The green version, out now, has such a military look.

From this vantage point, these kicks are anything but basic. They fall in line with Yeezy Boosts.

The detailing on the heel is so very.

Sole survivor! Leave it to RiRi and Puma to make sneakers that are sleek and chic.

The "classic" Trainers had an elongated tongue. They also had a high top aesthetic, right?
